If you break it down, you will fail

Posted by Suman on Feb 10, 2020

Things can truly happen,

when they are allowed to happen.

To allow something to happen,

means to let it come out without forcing it out.

On the contrary,

when you try to make something happen,

you end up blocking it from coming out on its own,

and as such,

you will always fail.

Why always?

Because even if by some thin chance,

you were "successful" in making it happen,

you did not MAKE IT HAPPEN.

That is to say, what you did end up making happen,

was not that which you originally intended,

and will always be an inferior version of what could have been.

What's that?

You say you "do not agree"?

Okay.

Let us talk something real then.

Let us talk about your life.

What happens when you try to not be hungry?

Do you not end up being more hungry?

Or when you are trying to force hunger?

Do you not continue to feel full?

Or when you are trying to resist any other urge?

Do you not become more likely to give into it?

You see,

such is the very nature of "attempt" or "effort".

Any and all attempts are destined to fail.

ALWAYS.

So when it comes to learning a movement pattern,

no matter how complicated or "hard",

if one has to ...

break down the whole movement into parts,

and THEN spend time learning each part,

and THEN spend time "putting together" each part,

and THEN spend time "practicing" this  ... mess-of-a-movement,

they will COMPLETELY FAIL in ever learning THE MOVEMENT.

And the failure, in this case, will be at multiple stages.

Because once again,

they will "try to learn" during each stage!

They will "try to" break down the movement ...

... some will break it into two, others will break it into three...

... and they will fail.

They will "try to" learn each segment ...

... which means there will be new exercises, new set and rep schemes

dedicated to each of those segments ...

... and they will fail.

They will "try to" put together each segment together ...

... which means more drills, more technique and more "smart thinking" ...

... and they will fail.

And then, when not even a speck of the wholeness and the pureness,

of the original movement is left,

they will "try to" practice the abomination that they have come up with ...

... and THEY. WILL. FAIL.

So I will ask you this ...

where will all these attempts, trials and failures take them?

Will they ever truly be able to experience the movement for what it is?

NO.

Will they ever accomplish that which they set out to accomplish?

NO.

Will they ever understand the very many troubles and blockers along the way?

NO.

Will they ever pause and question ... "Hmm was it supposed to be this complicated?"

NO.

For all these failures will come together resulting in a grand explosion,

encapsulating them in a lifelong, giant mushroom cloud of failures,

clogging their ability not just to understand,

but to question them in the first place!

For it will have become their norm ...

... to FAIL and FAIL and FAIL.
